As the door shut behind him, Shiningbright stood off in the distance. TV Fred was far away from what he knew. He stood on the border between The Wastes and what was beyond.\n\nTentatively, he took a step forward. \n\nAnd then he kept walking.\n\nHe didn't look back. Not even once.
<<if $scene6 eq 2>>\n<html><img src="http://videlaisstudios.info/games/2013/twine/febWeek1/scene6.png" style="display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;"></html>\nLight reflected off the robot's glass head. It was still rather clean, but had been collecting dust for some time. How long that had been and how exactly the robot had cleaned it before with only weapons for arms was a mystery TV Fred did not dwell on much.\n\nThe robot looked dangerous. That was enough of a reason to not get too close.\n\n[[Go Left|Scene5]]   |   [[Go through door|End]]\n<<else>>\n<html><img src="http://videlaisstudios.info/games/2013/twine/febWeek1/scene6.png" style="display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;"></html>\n\n"Biomechanoid Response Obliteration Command enabled. Weapon systems... disabled. Error #567. Biomechanoid Response Obliteration Command enabled. Weapon..."\n\nThe robot kept repeating the same words over and over. TV Fred thought maybe it was brokkin. Some said your memory was the first to go. Then you said the same things all the time.\n\nThe door behind the robot marked the end of The Wastes though. On the other side was another world, some said. His friends had told him everyone who walked through died immediately.\n\nTV Fred knew there was no one waiting for him back in Shiningbright. His "friends" were all he had and they were the ones who pushed him off the wall. TV Fred didn't know a great deal, but knew that wasn't right. Friends didn't do that.\n\n[[Go Left|Scene5]]   |   [[Go through door|End]]\n<<silently>>\n<<set $scene6 = 2>>\n<<endsilently>>\n<<endif>>

Each touching another and pushing on its neighbor. All worked toward one purpose.\n\nTV Fred found some solace in that. Not much. But some.\n\n[[Go Left|Scene3]]   |   [[Go Right|Scene5]]\n<<else>>\n<html><img src="http://videlaisstudios.info/games/2013/twine/febWeek1/scene4.png" style="display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;"></html>\nThere were two buildings here. One had a large window on one side. The other was built of the same materials as the wall around Shiningbright.\n\nTV Fred looked into the window. There was some type of machinery running inside. Small gears were turning larger ones. For a few moments, it was exciting. \n\nEventually, TV Fred noticed they were all spinning in place. There was movement, but only where they were placed. They could not escape.\n\n[[Go Left|Scene3]]   |   [[Go Right|Scene5]]\n<<silently>>\n<<set $scene4 = 2>>\n<<endsilently>>\n<<endif>>

Forever going from one place to another. Never settling down.\n\n[[Go Left|Scene4]]   |   [[Go Right|Scene6]]\n<<else>>\n<html><img src="http://videlaisstudios.info/games/2013/twine/febWeek1/scene5c.png" style="display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;"></html>\n\nThere was nothing here. Far off, TV Fred could see some type of structure. Back, there was the set of buildings.\n\n[[Go Left|Scene4]]   |   [[Go Right|Scene6]]\n<<silently>>\n<<set $scene5 = 2>>\n<<endsilently>>\n<<endif>>
<<if $scene2 eq 2>>\n<html><img src="http://videlaisstudios.info/games/2013/twine/febWeek1/scene2.png" style="display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;"></html>\nThe house looked empty. Not daring enough to get too close, TV Fred looked at the house and then at the lines leading away off into the distance.\n\n[[Go Left|Start]]   |   [[Go Right|Scene3]]\n<<else>>\n<html><img src="http://videlaisstudios.info/games/2013/twine/febWeek1/scene2.png" style="display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;"></html>\nTV Fred followed the lines from Shiningbright. They seemed to be leading him away from the city, but without anything else to guide him, that was the best option.\n\nHe came upon what looked like a house of some kind. It had a ladder and square windows. TV Fred had heard stories about the mutated robots that lived in The Wastes. Those that were labeled "brokkin" and asked to leave the city. He thought maybe some lived in the house.\n\nTV Fred wondered if he was one of them too, if maybe he was a brokkin now. His friends had said you could become one just by touching another brokkin. Even talking to one might get you infected.\n\n[[Go Left|Start]]   |   [[Go Right|Scene3]]\n<<silently>>\n<<set $scene2 = 2>>\n<<endsilently>>\n<<endif>>

TV Fred thought about investigating, but didn't know if he might get caught. He just wanted to go back home.\n\n[[Go Left|Scene2]]   |   [[Go Right|Scene4]]\n<<else>>\n<html><img src="http://videlaisstudios.info/games/2013/twine/febWeek1/scene3.png" style="display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;"></html>\nAfter the accident two weeks ago where he had gotten hit by a mag-lev shuttle, TV Fred's front leg stopped working correctly. And he couldn't afford to get it fixed. That was when the laughter started.\n\nHis gait was wobbly already and, with an unstable front leg, he walked in swinging dance movement. A little bit forward and then some back. Each step he took had him trying to balance his head.\n\nThe rhyme started soon after.\n\n"Look, look, it's Fred!\nHe has a TV for a head.\nCan't ever walk good,\nnever does what he should."\n\nTV Fred didn't think it was funny. Not the fifth time. Nor even the tenth.\n\n[[Go Left|Scene2]]   |   [[Go Right|Scene4]]\n<<silently>>\n<<set $scene3 = 2>>\n<<endsilently>>\n<<endif>>

Or maybe that was just a guard.\n\nEither way, the only option was to keep walking.\n\n[[Go Right|Scene2]]\n<<else>>\n<html><img src="http://videlaisstudios.info/games/2013/twine/febWeek1/scene1.png" style="display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;"></html>\nTV Fred had not expected that. His friends, saying they were going to show him a surprise, had pushed him off the wall of Shiningbright and into The Wastes.\n\nAt the moment though, TV Fred was questioning these "friends" and how, now that he was down here, he was going to get out. \n\nThe wall was too high for him to jump. And his chassis could not support a jetpack. Nor did he have one anyway.\n\nHis only choice was to keep walking.\n\n[[Go Right|Scene2]]\n<<silently>>\n<<set $scene1 = 2>>\n<<endsilently>>\n<<endif>>
